Fleur van Puijenbroek

Fleur van Puijenbroek, 35 jaar, is inmiddels 15 jaar werkzaam in de arbeidsbemiddeling, waarvan de laatste jaren als commercieel directeur. Ze is net 30 jaar als ze plots ernstig slechthorend wordt verklaard. Zowel door de medische wereld als haar leidinggevende wordt ze aan de zijlijn geplaatst. ‘Dit werk is niet meer passend voor jou. Je zult een nieuw pad moeten vinden’. 

Haar weg terugvinden in het werkzame leven bleek niet haar grootste uitdaging. Het gebrek aan veiligheid blijkt een veel groter obstakel. Dat gaat niet enkel om de letterlijke veiligheid op straat, maar ook om de sociale veiligheid in groepsverband. 

Sinds haar diagnose zorgt Fleur er met authenticiteit, (veer)kracht en vriendelijkheid voor dat we samen in gesprek blijven over dat wat juist is: inclusie. Inclusie betekent voor Fleur dat alle mensen, met en zonder beperking, kunnen meedoen én zich (sociaal) veilig voelen in deze samenleving.

Fleur van Puijenbroek, 35, has now been working in job placement for 15 years, the last few of which as commercial director. She has just turned 30 when she is suddenly declared severely hearing-impaired. Both the medical profession and her supervisor sidelined her. ‘This work is no longer suitable for you. You will have to find a new path’.

Finding her way back into working life proved not to be her biggest challenge. The lack of security turned out to be a much bigger obstacle. This is not just about literal safety on the streets, but also social safety in groups.

Since her diagnosis, Fleur ensures with authenticity, (spring) power and kindness that we keep talking together about what is right: inclusion. Inclusion for Fleur means that all people, with and without disabilities, can participate and feel (socially) safe in this society.
