Brad Ingrao

Dr. Brad Ingrao’s eerste kennismaking met gehoorverlies was met zijn oom Angelo, een muzikant die zijn gehoor en carrière verloor aan een mastoïd-infectie.  Slechte hoorzorg leidde ertoe dat zijn oom een hoortoestelspecialist werd in de familiale apotheek, waar Brad zijn onorthodoxe, maar zeer effectieve manieren observeerde om patiënten te helpen die achterbleven bij de “standaard”-benaderingen van die tijd.

Dr. Ingrao staat bekend als een vroege gebruiker van technologieën, een computernerd en een auteur en spreker die complexe onderwerpen begrijpelijk maakt.  Zijn klinische praktijk omvat het hele spectrum van audiologische zorg met speciale aandacht voor ernstig tot zeer ernstig gehoorverlies, waaronder cochleaire implantaten, hoorhulptechnologieën en gehoorverliespreventie en -behandeling voor musici.  Hij heeft gewerkt in privépraktijken, in de educatieve audiologie, voor de hoortoestellenindustrie, bij de VA en heeft lesgegeven aan drie universiteiten. Hij heeft presentaties gegeven op professionele en consumentenconferenties in de VS, Canada en Europa.

Dr. Brad Ingrao’s first exposure to hearing loss was with his uncle Angelo, a musician who lost his hearing, and career to a mastoid infection.  Poor quality hearing care led his uncle to become a hearing instrument specialist in the family pharmacy, where Brad observed his unorthodox, yet highly effective ways of helping patients left behind by the “standard” approaches of the time.

Dr. Ingrao is known as an early adopter of technologies, a computer geek and an author and lecturer who makes complex topics understandable.  His clinical practice encompasses the entire spectrum of audiology care with particular focus on severe to profound hearing loss, including cochlear implants, Hearing Assistive Technologies and hearing loss prevention and treatment for musicians.  He  has worked in private practice, in educational audiology, for the hearing aid industry, at the VA and has taught at three universities. He has presented at professional and consumer conferences across the US, Canada and Europe.
