International congress 2024 ‘Let’s Connect 2’
On March 22, 23 and 24 2024, the Foundation of the Sudden and Late Deafened will organize our third international congress which will take place in Egmond aan Zee. The theme is: “Let’s Connect 2!”.
Laurentien van Oranje, Co-founder & Director of the Number 5 foundation shall officially open the congress. During the congress, we will pay attention to the needs of the (sudden and Late) deafened people on a global scale and together with you ( sponsors interested parties and network partners from the Netherlands and abroad ) we will seek solutions and share personal stories and successful experiences with each other (best practices). This way, we can learn from one another, exchange experiences and contribute to a more inclusive world for people with the invisible challenge of a hearing impairment.
Program
The program includes components covering work, health, personal development, technology, youth and future, but also creativity and rest are covered. Friday is ideally suited for people working with, for and by the deaf and hard of hearing. Saturday we focus on interaction between deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people. In the evening, we will celebrate our 35th anniversary with a dinner and a festive evening program. On Sunday, after a morning of workshops, we will provide a fun final outing.
The congress will last for three days. However, you can also choose to attend for one or two days.

Conference price includes:
One or more day package(s):
- Unlimited coffee, tea and water throughout the day
- Extensive lunch buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- On Saturday, the three-day package includes an extensive dinner buffet. On the other days, you can dine on your own expenses.
- On Sunday: a joint cultural outing in the afternoon.
The conference price does not include accommodation and breakfast. You can arrange this yourself with the hotel. Please do so via this link:
This will entitle you to the discount the Plots and Late Deaf Foundation has agreed with the hotel for its visitors. Reservations can also be made by telephone stating ‘Congress Plots and Late Deaf Foundation.

Communication
A very important part of the congress is communication: the working language during the congress is English. We facilitate writing interpreters (English-Dutch) and sign-language interpreters (Dutch sign-languages NMG and NGT. The latter on request)
If you wish to bring another type of interpreter or aid, please indicate this on the registration form.

Payment method
Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive an email confirmation. Business registrants will also receive an invoice. After this confirmation, please transfer the amount within 30 days and no later than 1 March 2024, to IBAN: NL54 INGB 0000 0820 80 BIC/Swift code INGBNL2A in the name of Stichting Plotsdoven, stating your name and congress 2024.
cancellation conditions
In the unlikely event that you cannot participate after registration, the following cancellation conditions apply:
- If cancelled before 22 February 2024, you will receive a full refund of your payment.
- In case of cancellation between 22 February and 29 February 2024, 50% of the payment will be refunded.
- If cancelled after 29 February 2024, no payment will be refunded.
